Beth Barnes is a writer/director born in Glasgow, Scotland who has been living in Switzerland since her family relocated there in 2009. She speaks and writes in English and German but prefers working in English.

Beth is interested in interweaving magical realism and empathetic storytelling. 

​

She will graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Film with a focus on Screenwriting from the Zurich University of the Arts in June 2025.

​

From September 2025 onwards she shall be taking the plunge into writing for serial formats by starting a Masters in Serial Storytelling at the International Filmschool of Cologne, Germany. 

​

Beth works as a freelance filmmaker and has also worked in advertising as a production assistant. She has additionally worked as a translator at various film events.
